Operating Principles
1. Standalone Mode
In Standalone Mode, the device functions as a local Contact ID receiver connected to the PSTN communicator output (TIP/RING) of an alarm panel:
- When the alarm panel initiates a call and sends Contact ID data, the module establishes handshaking, receives the data frame, and acknowledges transmission.
- The incoming payload (Event Code, Partition Number, Zone/User ID) is checked against the internal 64-entry rule table.
- Upon a valid code match, the system dispatches user-defined text messages or places voice calls emitting an audible siren tone to up to 4 registered phone numbers.
- DTMF Acknowledgment: When enabled, the unit repeats voice calls until a recipient answers and inputs any DTMF key (0–9) on their telephone keypad to confirm signal receipt.
2. Transparent Mode
In Transparent Mode, the module acts as a voice-channel PSTN line simulator:
- It routes analog audio, DTMF signaling, and siren tones directly from alarm control panels or third-party voice devices across the 4G VoLTE cellular network.
- Suitable for standalone voice dialers, elevator emergency intercoms, SOS help points, and off-grid locations lacking fixed landline infrastructure.
Note: In Transparent Mode, the communicator does not process incoming phone calls and cannot supply ring voltage to connected telephone equipment.

Can the SC-VoLTE M2 ring an attached landline phone when receiving an incoming call?
No. The device is purely an outbound transmission gateway; it does not process incoming PSTN calls or supply ring voltage to connected analog telephone sets.
What SIM card format is required, and how is the PIN managed?
The hardware uses a 2FF Mini-SIM. If PIN protection is enabled on the SIM card, the correct PIN code must be entered via the PC configuration software settings.
How does event filtering function in Standalone Mode?
The module receives the raw Contact ID packet from the alarm panel, parses the event code, partition, and zone data, and matches it against an internal table of up to 64 pre-configured event rules to generate corresponding SMS or voice notifications.
How does DTMF acknowledgment operate during alarm calls?
When a voice alert is triggered, the module dials the target recipient and plays a tone. The recipient acknowledges receipt by pressing any numeric key (0–9) during the call, instructing the module to terminate further dialing cycles for that specific alarm event.
Can contact inputs IN1 and IN2 be used without an alarm control panel?
