UP200 VoLTE M2 in a public defibrillator (AED) cabinet
A Du-Pol customer designed a public AED cabinet for a town pavement and built the UP200 VoLTE M2 into its call point. The cabinet is the customer’s design; the UP200 provides the voice connection over 4G VoLTE.
The installation
The freestanding cabinet stands on a public pavement, next to a road and a pedestrian crossing. Our customer designed all of it: the shape, the colour, the markings and the place for the call point. They fitted the UP200 VoLTE M2 inside without changing the design.
What the UP200 VoLTE M2 does there
- When someone presses the call button, the unit calls a preset phone number over 4G VoLTE and opens a voice connection.
- Each button has two numbers. If nobody answers, pressing again within 60 seconds calls the second number.
- The numbers and settings can be changed remotely with the Configurator or by SMS, without a site visit.
Why it suits a public cabinet
- No cable to a building: it needs only a 12 V DC supply (9–16 V DC) and a SIM card with VoLTE calls enabled.
- Built for outdoor use: −30 °C to +60 °C, IP44.
- 1-button or 2-button version, so the call point fits the cabinet’s own layout.
Why 4G VoLTE matters here
A public cabinet looks exactly the same whether the connection behind it works or not, and nobody walking past can tell. Call points that use 2G only stop calling when 2G is switched off.
