Does the intercom need a landline, a cable to the house or internet at the gate?
No. At the gate it needs a 12 V DC power supply (9–16 V DC) and a SIM card that supports VoLTE calls (VoLTE enabled by the operator). No cable to the house and no landline are needed, and no Wi-Fi or LAN is needed at the gate: it calls over 4G VoLTE, with UMTS/GSM fallback where available. For the first setup, the free Configurator is downloaded once from dupol.eu to a PC and connected to the unit by USB; after that, settings can also be changed remotely: with the Configurator, which needs a mobile data plan on the SIM card, or by SMS commands, which work without mobile data.
What is the difference between the 2-button and 1-button version?
Only the number of buttons. The 2-button UP200 VoLTE M2 serves two apartments or offices; the 1-button RD version serves one. Functions and setup are the same.
How is the gate opened?
By a free call from up to 100 numbers, by 2# or 1# on the phone during a call, or by a pushbutton.
Which SIM card should I use?
A SIM card with VoLTE calls enabled by the operator. If you want to change settings remotely with the Configurator, choose a SIM card with VoLTE and a small mobile data plan. For calls and SMS commands only, a voice and SMS plan is enough. In the Configurator, APN user and APN password are needed only if the SIM card is on a closed (private) network; for standard SIM cards, leave them empty.
How is it configured?
The first setup is done with the free PC Configurator over USB, which reads and writes all settings in seconds. After that, settings can also be changed remotely with the Configurator (the SIM card needs a mobile data plan for this), or with password-protected SMS commands.
Can the owner call the intercom?
Yes. Numbers assigned to the buttons can call the intercom to talk to the visitor; other numbers are rejected.
I already have a 2G UP200 GSM. Do I need a new intercom?
No. Order the UP200 VoLTE upgrade PCB: unscrew the old internal board and fit the new one. The intercom stays mounted; just insert a SIM card that supports VoLTE calls.
Can I protect it further against rain?
Yes. The UP200 is IP44 as standard; the optional UP-RS rainshield gives extra protection against rain and moisture on exposed gate posts.
Which power supply should I use?
A 12 V DC supply (permitted range 9–16 V DC), rated at least 15 VA when an electric lock is connected. Do not use a 24 V supply. The optional MW LPH-18-12 (12 V DC / 1.5 A) also powers an electric lock.
